How do writers fit into the game development process? If this question has been plaguing you, or even if it hasn’t, you can come hear me attempt to answer it tomorrow at the LEVEL UP Rome Developer Conference. I’ll be joining a host of other great game developers to discuss best practices in the industry at the world famous Cinecittà studios.

Fitting Writers into the Game Development Process

When: 15:30-16:30, Sunday, May 12, 2019
Where: LEVEL UP, Track 1, Cinecittà, Via Tuscolana, 1055, 00173 Roma RM, Italia
What: Game developers are sometimes left scratching their heads on how to incorporate writers into the game development process.  This talk will take attendees through the stages of development to identify how a writer can integrate with the team and add value to the game, whether it be narrative-driven or narrative-light.

Hope to see you there!

Writing on DAYS GONE

DAYS GONE, the PS4 exclusive survival horror game, came out last month. I had the opportunity to write some early content for this game, set in the exquisite mountains, high desert, and forests of Oregon. The people of Bend Studios did an amazing job on this game. I spent about three months up there and even enjoyed riding around on a bike in the Cascade mountains. Spoiler: It’s more fun in-game, partially because IRL I felt like I was going to fall off, and also because it was cold!

If you’re interested in environmental storytelling, immersive ambient conversations, and a cult at the end of the world, check out DAYS GONE. Also, if you like killing zombie-like freakers while riding a bike like a boss, check it all the way out!
