The last issue of Crystal Cadets came out on digital last month, and it will soon be collected into a print graphic novel. Where: Ignited Spaces Hollywood, 7080 Hollywood Blvd.

Can’t wait to see you!  And if you’re not in LA, but will be in San Diego for comic-con, feel free to swing by Lion Forge booth 2300 for my signing of Crystal Cadets at 11am this Sunday!

Signing at Wonderkahn!

Wondercon is this weekend, and if you’ll be there, you can find me signing at the Lion Forge booth, 401, from 2-3pm on Saturday.  Allegedly, I will be signing preview PRINT copies of magical girl comic Crystal Cadets.  But this could be just an ugly rumor.  Here is my only clue:

Will there be preview copies? If you’re feeling adventurous, come join me at 2pm on Saturday and find out.

It’s out! Crystal Cadets #6! But will it come to print?

It’s out! The latest issue of Crystal Cadets splits the team in two, as they must hold off Emmy’s attack at a fun fair while cleverly bringing home the next cadet. But will the girls, still trying to figure out their powers, make a mess of it? The answer may surprise you! Forgive me for sounding like a “news at 11” broadcast 😉 There are only 2 more issues left, so get on board!

If you’re not convinced, check out an extended preview of this issue over at the Roar Comics Tumblr.

If you haven’t heard, IDW will be print publishing many of Lion Forge’s comics, including some Roar Comics titles in June. It’s not official that they will be collecting and publishing Crystal Cadets, but I bet the more digital orders we get, the better the chances are of getting to hold the collected print edition in your hot little hands (or big, cold hands, as the case may be).  So get in there, tell your friends, tell your wife, tell your friend’s wife, and spread the word!

Crystal Cadets 6 is available for Kindle and DRM-free at the Lion Forge site.

The Pitching Hour

Jermaine Turner (director, current series, Disney TV Animation), Ted Biaselli (VP programming, The Hub Network), Jill Sanford (VP, Nickelodeon Animation Development), Derek Hoffman (VP, Donner Co.), Anne Toole (writer), Charlie Chu (editor, Oni Press), Lindsay Rostal(game producer, The Odd Gentlemen), Jennie Kong (PR strategist), and moderator Dan Evans III(freelance writer, Stoopid Monkey), will take an idea from conception through production for various media. This process will include creating a pitch document, obtaining agents, and getting a pitch meeting. The panelists will explain, through hypothetical example and humorous stories, the process that new creators should adapt to make their way through the creative battleground of the entertainment industry. Knowing that each project is unique, there will be a Q&A to allow the audience to really hone in on the solutions to obstacles they may encounter. Also on hand will be Brendan McFeely (IP lawyer, Kane Kessler) to give creators insight on protecting their ideas as they navigate Hollywood!
